Ray Garrison, a slain soldier, is re-animated with superpowers.
Action Drama Fantasy - This science fiction/action-adventure based on a cult comic book is a bit starring vehicle for Vin Diesel, whose fans should be pleased. While rated PG-13 and lacking in graphic blood, parents may find the many action sequences too intense for kids, plus there is also a moderate amount of language.
Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Average Despite offering the promise of something new and interesting...the premise becomes little more than a device by which the filmmakers can get Vin Diesel to flex his muscles, sneer into the camera, and engage in CGI-crafted, gravity-defying fights with other equally unexpressive actors. The whole thing feels stale and familiar...
Slant MagazineFull Review Average It would be hard to argue that even the more interesting parts of Bloodshot are more than dumbed-down rehashes of scenes from the Wachowskis' The Matrix and Duncan Jones's underrated Source Code, but at the very least, it's parroting good material.
The GuardianFull Review Below Average Aside from the singular brawn of its leading man, this would-be springboard has nothing much worth launching. It's a stack of wormed-over action tropes, and to make matters worse, the movie knows it - and yet does not know enough to spare us its missteps in the first place.
