Almost four decades after he drew first blood, Sylvester Stallone is back as one of the greatest action heroes of all time, John Rambo. Now, Rambo must confront his past and unearth his ruthless combat skills to exact revenge in a final mission.
Action Adventure Thriller - As with the previous five films, this is an extremely violent and bloody action thriller starring Sylvester Stallone. The male action crowd is the target audience. Language and adult subject matter in addition to the violence make the film not for kids.
Roger EbertFull Review Poor The screenplay by Stallone and Matthew Cirulnick is an unforgivably clunky work in which even the most rudimentary of plot points have been cast aside, the dialogue is embarrassingly heavy-handed... ...the kinetic thrills that made "Rambo: First Blood Part II” watchable have been replaced by over-the-top carnage...
NY PostFull Review Average ...features what's easily the most violent movie scene of the year. It's awesome. That scene alone — which has Stallone cut through a man's chest with a knife, reach in, grab his heart and glare at it — makes the movie worthwhile. The rest could do without all the talking, emotions and hackneyed backstory.
Slant MagazineFull Review Good ...you may be surprised to learn that the kidnapping plot is resolved by the halfway point, after which Last Blood becomes a hilariously gore-splattered variant on Home Alone, with Rambo using all of his survivalist skills to exact revenge on the brothers and their innumerable disposable henchmen.
The GuardianFull Review Very Poor ...cringemakingly written and clunkily directed, and even the final action sequence runs out of steam after a minute or so. It is the streak of flabby sentimental self-importance that makes Rambo: Last Blood unwatchable. Please, Sly: more Balboa, less Rambo.

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 42 moviegoers:
WOW! Rambo's last movie is a hit with moviegoers! Most critics didn't enjoy "Last Blood," but moviegoers certainly did. As with almost any movie, there will be a few who provide vastly different reviews from the majority, but I would say your probability of truly enjoying "Last Blood" is very high.
