Three sixth grade boys ditch school and embark on an epic journey while carrying accidentally stolen drugs, being hunted by teenage girls, and trying to make their way home in time for a long-awaited party.
Adventure Comedy - Despite focusing on 12-year-olds, this raunchy comedy is most definitely not for that age group nor any kids due to constant language, raunchy humor, and drug themes. Jacob Tremblay plays the lead, and adult fans of his dramatic work will enjoy this comedic change of pace. Familiar adult actors such as Lil Rel Howery and Will Forte have only small supporting roles.
PROFANITY: Well over 30 F-words; 26 S-words; 4 GD's; many others. SEX/NUDITY: Glimpses of sex toys. VIOLENCE: Comic hits and falls; paintball shooting. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, molly. ACTION: Chases and a car collision. COMEDY: Constant raunchy banter and physical gags, mostly involving tweens.
Roger EbertFull Review Good ...extremely R-rated...The trio of sixth graders...are shockingly profane and adorably clueless at once. ...while the premise eventually grows thin and the jokes turn repetitive by the third act, the chemistry between the movie's three stars is both lively and substantial enough to keep the antics enjoyable.
NY PostFull Review Good ...this is a raunch-com that goes for — and gets — stunned laughs. Its young protagonists curse like truck drivers as they encounter drugs, sex toys and hardcore pornography in their quest to prepare for the Holy Grail of sixth grade: a kissing party.
Slant MagazineFull Review Average ...there are laughs to be had in Good Boys, many of them deriving from the main characters' mistaken understanding of the adult world. ...the film never captures much of the feeling, of the world of childhood experience...

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 43 moviegoers:
I had a feeling the high degree of adult content would result in widely varying reviews and I wasn't wrong. I highly recommend that you carefully read the content details to see if this is the type of movie (humor) you might enjoy.
TEENS: The lone male loved it, as did both of the females.
TWENTYSOMETHINGS: Three males loved it, but the fourth was somewhat disappointed. A similar thing happened with the ladies. Two loved it and one enjoyed it, but didn't love it.
ADULTS: These reviews are pretty mixed, which is likely due to the strong content. Half the males loved "Good Boys" but a large percentage rated it just "good/average" (enjoyable but nothing special or memorable). As for the ladies, about 35% loved it with another 18% enjoying it very much. The remaining, roughly 50%, are somewhat to very disappointing reviews.
