When a massive hurricane hits her Florida hometown, Haley ignores evacuation orders to search for her missing father. Finding him gravely injured in the crawl space of their family home, the two become trapped by quickly encroaching floodwaters. As time runs out to escape the strengthening storm, Haley and her father discover that the rising water level is the least of their fears.
Action Adventure Horror - This is an alligator horror thriller with only two central characters, played by Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper. Fans of the stars will enjoy. Language, violence, and intense sequences involving alligators make the film not for kids.
Roger EbertFull Review Above Average ...white-knuckled gator movie... ...a relentless thriller with various satisfying (if not predictable) jolts and a summer flick that only tentatively dips its toes into deliberate silliness, scared to fully go into the water.
Rolling StoneFull Review Above Average Crawl takes its time setting its trap before letting things rip. Once it does get everything in place, the movie settles into an efficient mousetrap mode, cutting off some avenues of escape while opening others and dangling the notion of salvation before snatching it away.
Rex ReedFull Review Good "Crawl" Is the Most Satisfying Horror Film of the Summer. Craving a disaster epic, flesh-crawling horror movie, or breathless thriller? Crawl is all three rolled into one... ...trapped in the crawlspace under a flooded house filled with man-eating alligators. The panic that ensues is not only palpable, it's pulverizing.
