Peter Parker and his friends go on a European vacation, where Peter finds himself agreeing to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent.
Action Adventure Sci-Fi - This is the latest Marvel Studios superhero action-adventure
featuring the popular title character. As with the previous film in
the series, Homecoming, this focuses on a high school age
Peter Parker, and thus the film skews a bit younger than other Marvel
films. Fans of returning stars Tom Holland and Zendaya should enjoy,
and Jake Gyllenhaal has a juicy role here. Marvel regular Samuel L.
Jackson has only a small supporting role here. Some language and
action violence may make this of caution for parents of very young
kids, but most families will find this to be fairly safe for
pre-teens and up.
Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Good ...a dose of comedy, a dash of romance, and some CGI-heavy battles, the film accomplishes what it needs to do. ...works best when viewed as an epilogue to Avengers: Endgame (and, by extension, the entire MCU multi-film arc to this point) instead of a stand-alone adventure.
Roger EbertFull Review Above Average ...for a while, "Far From Home" is a lot of fun, especially since it picks up right where "Avengers: Endgame" left off. "Far From Home" loses its way just as it's reaching its supposedly thrilling crescendo, its greatest sin being that the scenes with the highest stakes are ultimately kind of dull.
USA TodayFull Review Good With quirky references (get ready for an unexpectedly awesome Whitney Houston needle drop) and plenty of big-time "Avengers"-style fights leveled at the main kiddo, the new "Spider-Man" definitely feels to fans like coming "Home."
NY PostFull Review Average ...Holland is still far-and-away the best Marvel casting since Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. He throws himself into the role more than any of his more seasoned peers do, and manages to be always funny, likable and sympathetic — even in a so-so movie.
