Determined to keep Annabelle from wreaking more havoc, demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren bring the possessed doll to the locked artifacts room in their home, placing her "safely" behind sacred glass and enlisting a priest's holy blessing. But an unholy night of horror awaits as Annabelle awakens the evil spirits in the room, who all set their sights on a new target-the Warrens' ten-year-old daughter, Judy, and her friends.
Horror Mystery Thriller - This is the third killer doll spinoff from the popular The
Conjuring horror series, but this one has the strongest ties to
the parent series, with Conjuring leads Vera Farmiga and
Patrick Wilson here, albeit in a background capacity. Language,
violence, and lots of intense scare sequences often involving a young
girl make the film not for kids.
Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Below Average I can't say that Annabelle Comes Home, the third feature focused on the creepy girl doll, is the worst (because it has plenty of competition) but it's easily among the dumbest. Although the Annabelle doll is heavily featured in the advertising campaign, its screen time is minimal and it rarely moves.
Roger EbertFull Review Above Average Eventually, Dauberman hits an unexpectedly sweet note with the accumulation of various female coming-of-age stories. But "Annabelle Comes Home” proves it's perhaps time to put the genie back in its bottle and bring this particular creepy doll series to a decisive close.
NY PostFull Review Average It's a fun premise too often reduced to formulaic door-creaks and ghoul-shrieks, though Dauberman does work in a few arresting images, including a demon that is only visible via ancient-coin eyes. But "Annabelle Comes Home” is so low stakes it's barely a movie — more like a very special "Brady Bunch” episode in hell.
Rex ReedFull Review Above Average ...often feels like a fun, periodically thrilling and slightly claustrophobic horror-tinged theme park ride. It's also, especially early on, akin to waiting in an interminably long line to get onto that ride. ...the movie largely works. This is thanks chiefly to a focused script...

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 13 moviegoers:
WOW! GREAT REVIEWS! We weren't able to collect very many reviews, but those we did collect clearly show that moviegoers LOVED "ANNABELLE COMES HOME." Only a couple of adult females rated it "good/average" (enjoyable but nothing special or memorable).
