Tessa, a dedicated student, dutiful daughter and loyal girlfriend to her high school sweetheart, enters her first semester in college. Armed with grand ambitions for her future, her guarded world opens up when she meets the dark and mysterious Hardin Scott, a magnetic, brooding rebel who makes her question all she thought she knew about herself and what she wants out of life.
Drama Romantic - While a romantic drama based on a novel aimed
at teens, in particular females, there are
some adult themes and scenes of sensuality
that parents of pre-teens should be cautioned
about, as well as teen drinking and vaping.
familiar faces such as Selma Blair, Jennifer
Beals, and Peter Gallagher only have small
roles, with the young leads played by
newcomers Jacqueline Langford and Hero Fiennes
Roger EbertFull Review Poor The performances are consistently monotone, and the dialogue is alternately treacly, in terms of romantic statements, and on-the-nose, in terms of giving Hardin a back story to explain his rebel act. ...nothing here seems to be on the life-defining level promised by the opening voice-over.
