Comedy Fantasy Romantic - This reverse gender variant of the 2000 Mel Gibson comedy is not a
romantic comedy like that film but a much more raunchy and adult
oriented workplace comedy. Fans of Taraji P. Henson will definitely
enjoy this major showcase. Tracy Morgan only has a smaller
supporting role. Frequent language, sexual content, and raunchy
humor makes the film not for kids.

Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Average One would have to be charitable to use "romantic”, "comedy”, or "enjoyable” for this new iteration. ...wastes its premise even more egregiously than its 2000 inspiration while offering little more than a sparkling Henson performance to distract us from the underwritten screenplay.
Roger EbertFull Review Good Director Adam Shankman keeps things bouncy with predictable but peppy songs on the soundtrack... Henson's very funny, but grounded performance keeps us rooting for Ali even in her most awkward moments, whether she's doing the walk of shame straight into a business event ...
Rolling StoneFull Review Below Average ...the cliché-ridden film can't go the distance. Toothless Retread Flips the Genders but Not the Script.Taraji P. Henson powers through the comic clichés of What Men Want like a supernova engine that could. She's a hot-wired riot, but her movie stalls almost as soon as it starts.
Slant MagazineFull Review Average What Men Want is a decent rom-com, but by its end this failure has the unsavory effect of making its central conceit feel entirely extraneous. Henson is a versatile actor often cast as a snappy, hard-shelled professional, and here she gets to push against type a little. She elevates the film...
