With only hours until D-Day, a team of American paratroopers drop into Nazi-occupied France to carry out a mission that's crucial to the invasion's success. Tasked with destroying a radio transmitter atop a fortified church, the desperate soldiers join forces with a young French villager to penetrate the walls and take down the tower. But, in a mysterious Nazi lab beneath the church, the outnumbered G.I.s come face-to-face with enemies unlike any the world has ever seen.
Action Mystery Sci-Fi - This is a WWII action adventure with a sci-fi
horror twist. There are no big names in the
cast. Constant language and often gruesome
violence make the film not for kids.
Roger EbertFull Review Above Average "Overlord" is a simple mechanism to deliver squib packs and swear words, a function that the film's creators accomplish despite their otherwise unremarkable story's choppy pacing and general humorlessness....if I was still an easily-distracted youth, I might enjoy "Overlord,"...
Rolling StoneFull Review Above Average Somehow, the momentum starts to slow down even as the mayhem ramps up, and the climactic boss battle almost feels like an afterthought; things start to devolve from creepy to cartoonish in record time.
Slant MagazineFull Review Average ...these zombies and their masters are so cartoonishly villainous that you may find yourself wishing they were a little more complex—a little more human. The film's chief pleasure, then, is its simplest: watching Americans send Nazis to their deaths.
