Owen and Claire return to Isla Nublar four years after the park is closed. Their mission - save the dinosaurs from certain death by a newly active volcano on the island. Owen is determined to find his lead Raptor Blue, but soon discovers information that changes everything.
Sci-Fi Action Adventure - Like the first four films in the series, this is an
effects-heavy action thriller featuring dinosaurs--
which, again, also thus gives the film a lot of kid
appeal, but as with the previous films there are a
number of violent and intense scenes with the
that could be upsetting for kids. Also, this
installment has a little more bloodshed as well as some
potentially upsetting scenes, for kids and adults, of
dinosaurs dying, so that with the violence and moderate
language may be of concern to parents. Fans of stars
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard should enjoy but
those of veteran series star Jeff Goldblum may be
disappointed by what is only a cameo appearance.
PROFANITY: 1 S-word; a few others. SEX/NUDITY: None. VIOLENCE: Scenes of dinosaurs fighting and attacking others and humans, with some bloodshed. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Brief alcohol. ACTION: Dinosaur fights, gunplay, chases, explosions, destruction. COMEDY: Some banter and wisecracks.
Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Average ...tired an uninspired, doing little more than hitting all the expected notes as they plod along. ... I have no desire to revisit this world again. It's played out. There's only so far you can go with dinosaur movie and this series has gotten to that point…and beyond. Fallen Kingdom isn't dino-myte. It's dino doo-doo.
Roger EbertFull Review Average ...bloodless, soulless, bereft of personality or idiosyncrasy, delivering only meticulously engineered thrills based on repeating what has worked in the past. This is a movie that's annoying in part because it doesn't care if you're annoyed by it. It doesn't need you, the individual viewer, to like it. It just needs a crowd to see it.
Slant MagazineFull Review Average "These creatures don't need our protection,” says Lockwood, when he first meets Claire. "They need our absence.” If only the folks at Universal Pictures would listen, and finally leave these dinosaurs alone. ...by the end of Bayona's film, you'll likely be bored or bemused...
NewsdayFull Review Good "Fallen Kingdom” is at heart just well-made entertainment, with all the action, effects, romance and humor that have kept this franchise alive since Steven Spielberg's original film in 1993. It's the quieter, more sober moments, though, that will stay with you.

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 172 moviegoers:
WOW! Most professional movie critics rates "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" just "Average." These incredible moviegoer reviews are anything but "Average." Over three-quarters of all ages, both males and females, LOVED THIS MOVIE! Most of the remaining quarter enjoyed it very much. Only 10% to 15% rated it "average."
It's been three years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was
destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by
humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.
When the island's dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (CHRIS PRATT) and
Claire (BRYCE DALLAS HOWARD) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs
from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor
who's still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these
creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava
begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return
our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.
With all of the wonder, adventure and thrills synonymous with one of the most
popular and successful series in cinema history, this all-new motion-picture
event sees the return of favorite characters and dinosaurs-along with new breeds
more awe-inspiring and terrifying than ever before.
