A family of four must live their lives in silence while hiding from creatures that hunt by sound.
Drama Horror Thriller - This is a mostly silent horror film--and, as such, there is no
strong language. However, despite the PG-13 rating, there are a lot
of scary and disturbing moments that will be far too intense for
children. Fans of star Emily Blunt and co-star/director John
Krasinski will be pleased.
Roger EbertFull Review Very Good ...shreds the nerves, but it does so in a way that feels rewarding. You don't just walk out having experienced a thrill ride, you walk out on a high, the kind of high that only comes from the best horror movies.
NY PostFull Review Very Good ...superb horror movie..The mysterious circumstances are what make this horror film so taut and terrifying from start to finish. a jalapeño popper of a movie — fast, filling and punchy — and a likable throwback to the films of M. Night Shyamalan. The good ones, anyway.
Rolling StoneFull Review Very Good ...dazzling, devilishly clever horror film that goes beyond scares to the intangibles that define us. The acting is flawless... what raises it to the next level is the humanism that lies beneath the horror. This new horror classic will fry your nerves to a frazzle.
Slant MagazineFull Review Good Ironically, the scariest parts of this genuinely scary film are its quietest, and the formal innovation of the minimalistic and claustrophobic sound design—necessary to represent a world where breaking the silence will kill you—is what makes A Quiet Place stand out from standard horror fare usually committed more to jump scares than to skillfully calibrating a rising feeling of tension.
