Oyelowo plays the focal role, but most of the other familiar faces
such as Charlize Theron, Joel Edgerton, and Amanda Seyfried have
substantial supporting roles. Constant language, brutal violence,

Roger EbertFull Review Good ...a largely fun watch, a corporate crime tale of consistent tartness enacted by a superb cast. That cast is the first thing that makes the not-badness of "Gringo" a little less of a surprise. I was a little more irritated by a certain bit of withholding at the finale but the overall experience of "Gringo" is pretty tangy.
Slant MagazineFull Review Below Average The circuitous narrative of Nash Edgerton's Gringo is such that it never allows for a character or storyline to develop in a particularly efficient way, as every few minutes an abrupt twist or turn sets things off in a new and unexpected direction. The film, packed to the brim with characters and plot points, is but a series of barely connected threads.
NewsdayFull Review Below Average Dark comedy is a difficult needle to thread, and one absolutely necessary quality to do it well is intelligence. But the treatment of Elaine isn't smart at all, just sensationalist and shocking. This "Gringo" is better off staying underground forever.
The GuardianFull Review Below Average Impressive stunts and occasional flashes of wit can't save this strained comedy drama... The film periodically livens up, and Oyelowo shows that he can play comedy, but his performance isn't given much guidance or room to grow and the direction is very flat and uninspired.

Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 17 moviegoers:
Unfortunately, this was not a well attended movie so we weren't able to collect very many reviews.
TEENS: The lone male loved it. The lone female felt it was only an "average" movie.
ADULTS: We weren't able to collect very many reviews, but these few clearly show that most felt it was just an "average" movie. Only a few rated it "above average," which indicates a movie they enjoyed very much.
