Action Adventure - This second installment of the latest trilogy in the long-running
science fiction series features the true return of original series
lead Mark Hamill, but his presence is distinctly a supporting one to

Fisher has a substantial supporting role. Some action sequences and
dark turns of the plot will be too intense for young children, but
families with older preteens and up will find this generally safe
viewing, even with some violent content and very mild language.

Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Good ...I'll admit to having been disappointed by aspects of the scope and scale of the narrative, especially considering the high regard in which I hold Johnson (his Looper was my #1 film of 2012). Standout, signature scenes make for moments of great viewing power but can't hide the flaws of an untidy, overlong story.
Roger EbertFull Review Excellent It's everything a fan could want from a "Star Wars” film and then some. Even the sorts of viewers who spend the entire running time of movies anticipating every plot twist and crowing "called it!” when they get one right are likely to come up short here.
USA TodayFull Review Very Good ...tries to do a little too much in its overlong 2½ hours, yet writer/director Rian Johnson still turns in a stellar entry that owes much to George Lucas' original films while finding a signature vibe of its own and unleashing a few welcome twists.
NY PostFull Review Excellent ...a grand and heartfelt epic with something for everyone, whether you're here for the new heroes such as Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (John Boyega), or the old ones (welcome back, Mark Hamill!), or just for the X-wing dogfights; whether you're in need of some rousing inspiration, or longing for one last visit with Carrie Fisher...
