Devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchanan butts heads with a brash new recruit. Together, they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay.
Comedy - While based on the hit TV show of the same name, this is not a
straight adaptation of the series but an outrageous comedy that
parodies it--and unlike the TV series, this film gets very crude and
raunchy, so families familiar with only the original show should be
warned. Fans of Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron should enjoy, while
Priyanka Chopra only has a smaller supporting role, and original TV
series stars David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson only have cameos.
Language and crude, raunchy gags are constant, and there is some
violent content, but not graphically so.

PROFANITY: Well over 30 F-words; over 30 S-words; 4 GD's; many others. SEX/NUDITY: Brief non-sexual nudity. VIOLENCE: Fights and shootings with minimal blood. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Some alcohol. ACTION: Fights, chases, fires, explosions. COMEDY: Constant silly banter, wisecracks, and physical gags, often crude and raunchy.
Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Poor ...it disappoints in almost every way, not succeeding at anything it tries and boring audiences in the process. More than lifeguards in spandex are needed to resuscitate this beached whale. The waterlogged end product is an example of lazy writing and direction...
Roger EbertFull Review Below Average this is another one of those raunchy comedies that's barely a movie, that looks like it was edited by dumping a bunch of footage into whatever movie-cutting software they're using and hitting "randomize.” The number of out-of-continuity shots in the first 20 minutes was so large I stopped counting.
USA TodayFull Review Average ...has its share of hilarious moments but never fully commits to the absurd, and even the cleverest jokes get so many callbacks, they're beating a dead seahorse. Everything one would expect in a Baywatch movie — cleavage, bouncing body parts, constant flexing and the excessive use of slo-mo — is present.
NY PostFull Review Below Average ...director Seth Gordon and a cargo ship full of writers use the beachy setup as little more than a vehicle for generic hard-R and gross-out gags. The cast is capable, and a meta-examination of "Baywatch” should have produced something sharper.

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 64 moviegoers:
This is one of those rare movies where the reviews are either really high or low to very low (either you loved it or didn't care for it with very few in-between).
TEENS: Eight of the 11 males loved it with three rating it just "average" (enjoyable but nothing special or memorable). The female reviews are nearly identical. Either they loved it or thought it was just an OK movie.
TWENTYSOMETHINGS: All five of the males loved it, as did 5 of the 6 ladies.
ADULTS: This is obviously not a movie for most adults. Only about 35% of the males loved it, with another 35% rating it "average." The remaining 30% didn't care for it. The females enjoyed it a bit more with just under half loving it. Unfortunately, a very high percentage rated it just "average," with nearly 10% disliking it.
