Storyline Heading

Based on the unbelievably true life stories of three of these women, known as "human computers.
.
Movie Type (Genre) Heading
Drama - This is an inspirational fact-based drama focusing on a little-known bit of history regarding a trio of African-American women's contributions to the space program in the 1960s, specifically the moon landing. While the historical context does touch on some mature themes of racism, the PG rating and the story makes the film appropriate and informative viewing for pre-teens and up, not to mention for the whole family. There is brief alcohol and only mild language. Fans of the three main stars as well as notable supporting players such as Kevin Costner will definitely enjoy.

Critic's Review Heading

Berardinelli, Internet Critic Full Review
Good Historical fudges aside, Hidden Figures provides an example of determination and talent triumphing over an unfair and repressive system - something that, although grounded by the time period in which the story unfolds, has relevance beyond the decade or the century in which it transpires.

Roger Ebert Full Review
Very Good ...some of the year's best writing, directing and acting. It deserves to make as much money as any planet in the Marvel Universe does. This is one of the year's best films.

NY Post Full Review
Very Good "Hidden Figures” is a triumphant and heartwarming film, not an angry and scolding one, that carefully maps how excellence and determination win over the doubters.

Rolling Stone Full Review
Very Good The story may be corny at times, even simplistic, but that doesn't stop you from wanting to stand up and cheer. Lots of movies are labeled as "inspirational" – Hidden Figures truly earns the right to the term.
