An elite assassin who was genetically engineered from conception to be the perfect killing machine and with unprecedented strength, speed, stamina and intelligence. His latest target is a mega-corporation that plans to unlock the secret of his past to create an army of killers whose powers surpass even his own.
Action Adventure Thriller - This is not so much a sequel to the 2007 action film based on the
popular video game but a complete reboot/restart of the series. As
such, there are no returning stars from that film, and the leads of
this film, Rupert Friend and Hannah Ware, are generally unknown.
Language and a lot of brutal violence make the film not for children.
Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Average Hitman: Agent 47 might offer a passable diversion for action junkies but, for everyone else, it's best avoided. Hitman: Agent 47 bears little resemblance to the 2007 title, Hitman (although both were written by Skip Woods).
Roger EbertFull Review Poor ...aggressively awful, the kind of film that rubs its lackadaisical screenwriting, dull filmmaking and boring characters in your face, almost daring you to ask the theater operator for your money back.
NY PostFull Review Poor The film was shot on location in Berlin and Singapore, and Friend is out-acted by the gorgeous scenery. Not that the screenplay gives him much help...

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 51 moviegoers:
TEENS: Great Reviews from the males! As for the females, one loved it and one felt it was an "average" movie.
TWENTYSOMETHINGS: Three of the five males loved it and one enjoyed it very much rating it "above average." The fifth males rated it "average." There were no females in this age group.
ADULTS: These aren't great reviews but they aren't as low as the professional critic reviews. About 30% of the males and 20% of the females loved "Hitman: Agent 47." Another 30% of both the males and females rated it "above average," which indicates a movie they enjoyed very much. Unfortunately, 40% of the males and 50% of the females rated it just "average," (enjoyable but nothing special or memorable). That's a little on the low side but certainly not bad.
