With the IMF disbanded, and Ethan out in the cold, the team now faces off against a network of highly skilled special agents, the Syndicate. These highly trained operatives are hellbent on creating a new world order through an escalating series of terrorist attacks. Ethan gathers his team and joins forces with disavowed British agent Ilsa Faust, who may or may not be a member of this rogue nation, as the group faces their most impossible mission yet.
Action Adventure Thriller - This fifth installment in the spy action series has fairly minimal
language and does not have graphic bloodshed, but there are still a
lot of action scenes that may be too intense for young kids. Fans of
Tom Cruise will most especially enjoy.
Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Good The tone is predominantly serious but there's enough humor to keep things light. ...this production joins its immediate predecessor, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, at the franchise's pinnacle....
Roger EbertFull Review Excellent Alec Baldwin describes Cruise, hilariously and also accurately, as "a manifestation of pure will,” but the phrase could apply to Ilsa as well, and to this glorious film, which knows exactly what it wants to be and makes damn sure that Tom Cruise never stops running.
USA TodayFull Review Good The action bonanza gets a little lost in its own spycraft, but offers scenes both fast and furious and a fabulous couple of additions to the world of the IMF... Rogue Nation gets convoluted in its series of twists, though McQuarrie offers a surprising amount of welcome humor...
