Storyline Heading
Just as Nick and Amy personified the quintessential romantic match, Amy's disappearance has all the markings of an emblematic domestic American crime. But her vanishing becomes a kind of hall of mirrors in which tantalizing and savage secrets lead to tantalizing and savage secrets. The events that unfold are thick with shocks and complications, but the questions that remain are what cut, with razor-sharp precision, to the bone.

Movie Type (Genre) Heading
Drama Mystery Thriller - This is a fairly long dark mystery/thriller aimed at and strictly for adults. Fans of the novel, director David Fincher, and stars Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike will enjoy, and Tyler Perry fans will enjoy this change of pace role and project for him though his more church-based fans should steer clear. Sexual content with nudity, some graphic violence, language, and adult themes make this not for children.

Critic's Review Heading

Roger Ebert Full Review
Very Good 'Gone Girl' is art and entertainment, a thriller and an issue, and an eerily assured audience picture.

USA Today Full Review
Excellent Gone Girl will leave you breathless and haunted.

NY Post Full Review
Average Let's just say this is the sort of having-your-cake-and-eating-it-too "date movie" loaded with fantasies designed to appeal equally to both feminists and misogynists.

OPINION OVERVIEW
The following is the original "What's Worth Watching" write-up for this movie.

Moviegoer Opinions:

Based on a theater exit polling of 163 moviegoers:
Finally, a movie both critics and moviegoers enjoyed very much! Just over half of all moviegoers indicated that they LOVED "GONE GIRL." Another quarter rated it "above average," which indicates a movie they enjoyed very much. Most of the remaining quarter, or so, felt it was an "average" movie (enjoyable but nothing special or memorable). Only a tiny percentage didn't enjoy it. Overall, these are great reviews and I certainly recommend that you see "Gone Girl."
