SAMANTHA BARKS is emerging as one of Hollywood's most
engaging, vivacious and talented young actresses. Barks is best known for
playing the coveted role of 'Eponine' in the 2012 Oscar nominated film Les
Miserables, co-starring opposite Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, and
Eddie Redmayne, and directed by Tom Hooper. Samantha also received a "Spotlight"
HOLLYWOOD Award for the role and won "Best Newcomer" for the UK Empire Awards.
Barks will next be seen starring alongside Hans Matheson in The Christmas
Candle. Based off the novel by bestselling author Max Lucado, the film takes
place in the small village of Gladbury and follows the legend that leads to the
miraculous and the human colliding in the most astonishing Christmas the town
has ever seen.
Barks is currently filming Dracula Untold, a film that integrates the true
history of Prince Vlad and vampire mythologies to tell the story of Dracula.
Barks will play the role of a "baba yaga," a character from Eastern European
folktales about a woman who is turned into a witch.
Also an experienced stage actress in the UK, Samantha has starred in Oliver!
The Musical in London, Aladdin (Theatre Royal Windsor/Bill Kenwright) and
Cabaret (Rufus Norris Birmingham Rep Theatre/Bill Kenwright).
