Whether on stage or screen, Comedienne/Actress SHERRI SHEPHERD (Cornrows) never fails to delight audiences with her magnetic personality and hilarious sense of humor, which is showcased in her position as co-host of ABC's Emmy-nominated "The View." Sherri will star and executive produce her new Lifetime series, "Sherri," which is loosely based on her life and stand-up comedy. The premiere is October 2009. Also in October, Sherri's humorous autobiography, Permission Slips: Every Woman's Guide to Giving Yourself a Break, will be launched by Grand Central Publishing.
She continues to reprise her hysterical role as Angie Jordan, wife to Tracey Morgan's character on the Emmy-winning "30 Rock." Sherri most recently co-starred in Dreamworks' hit feature MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA, where she voiced the character of Ben Stiller's mother.
The Chicago native co-starred for four seasons with Sara Rue and Andy Dick on the ABC workplace comedy, "Less Than Perfect." She starred opposite Queen Latifah in MGM's BEAUTY SHOP, and appeared with Bernie Mac in GUESS WHO. On television, she appeared on "Friends," "Everybody Loves Raymond," "Suddenly Susan," "The Jamie Foxx Show," "Living Single," "Joan of Arcadia," and David E. Kelley's "Wedding Bells." In 2008, she served as co-host along with Cameron Mathison at the Daytime Emmy Awards.
For five years, Sherri toiled as a secretary by day and hopped on the bus at night to do her standup. She finally got her first real break with the comedy "Cleghorne!"
Sherri is the proud Mother of 4-year-old Jeffrey Jr. She serves as a national spokesperson for the March of Dimes.
