LAKEITH STANFIELD (Michael Block) can currently be seen in
Knives Out, opposite Daniel Craig, and Uncut Gems, where he stars opposite Adam
Sandler. He will also be seen in an untitled Fred Hampton project, set to
release in 2020.
Stanfield is best known for his role as Darius in Donald Glover's series
Atlanta on FX. He was also nominated for a 2019 Critics' Choice Award for his
starring role in Annapurna and Boots Riley's Sorry to Bother You.
Stanfield was recently seen in The Girl in The Spider's Web, opposite Claire
Foy; as Nate Davis in Netflix's Someone Great; and as Colin Warner in Amazon
Studio's Crown Heights, based on the story of wrongfully convicted prisoner
Colin Warner. The film won the Audience Award in the Dramatic category at the
Sundance Film Festival in 2017.
He also starred in Jordan Peele's cult-hit Get Out; as quirky detective L in
Netflix's Death Note; and in the Netflix original film War Machine, opposite
Stanfield was featured in the dance performance "Changers," written and
directed by Spike Jonze. "Changers" was featured in Opening Ceremony's Fall 2017
collection. All ticket proceeds were donated to the Greater Houston Community
Foundation's Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.
Stanfield also starred in Miles Ahead opposite Don Cheadle and Ewan McGregor
and in Oliver Stone's Snowden opposite Shailene Woodley and Joseph
Gordon-Levitt. Additional credits include playing Snoop Dogg in Straight Outta
Compton, Bug in Dope and as the Civil Rights activist Jimmie Lee Jackson in the
two-time Oscar-nominated film Selma.
Stanfield acted and rapped in both the short and feature length versions of
the film Short Term 12 and was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 2014
Independent Spirit Awards for his role.
Stanfield is also a member of indie rap duo MOORS.
