KUMAIL NANJIANI (Stu) is an Oscar-nominated writer and critically acclaimed actor and comedian.

Nanjiani stars in the upcoming Sony film Men in Black opposite Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Liam Neeson, Rafe Spall, Emma Thompson and Rebecca Ferguson, set to be released on June 14, 2019. In this new spinoff, Kumail plays a comedic alien named Pawny. Additionally, Nanjiani will soon be heard voicing the character of Plimpton, the ostrich, in the upcoming Universal film The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle, opposite Robert Downey Jr., Rami Malek, Antonio Banderas, Tom Holland, John Cena, Selena Gomez and Octavia Spencer, set to be released on January 17, 2020. Most recently announced, Nanjiani will star in the Adam McKay and Will Ferrell produced fact-based Valparaiso Pictures' spy action comedy No Glory.

Currently, Kumail is in production alongside Issa Rae in The Lovebirds, the story of a couple on the verge of a break-up who suddenly become involved in an embroiled and hilarious murder mystery. Nanjiani is also acting and writing for an upcoming TV adaptation of My Beautiful Laundrette. Additionally, Nanjiani along with his wife, Emily V. Gordon, are working on the Apple series Little America which just started production the first week of March.

On the television side, Nanjiani will reprise his starring role as Dinesh on season six of the Emmy Award-winning HBO comedy series Silicon Valley, opposite Thomas Middleditch, Martin Starr and Zach Woods. Over the years, the series has won two Critic's Choice Awards for Best Comedy Series and has been named one of the AFI's TV Programs of the Year. Premiering this April, Kumail is a recurring guest star in Jordan Peele's new spin off of the original 1959 TV Series The Twilight Zone alongside Adam Scott, John Cho, Allison Tolman, Jacob Tremblay, Steven Teun, Ginnifer Goodwin, Sanaa Lathan, Tracy Morgan, Greg Kinnear and Seth Rogen.

In 2017 Kumail and his wife Emily V. Gordon received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay for The Big Sick, in which Nanjiani starred alongside Holly Hunter, Zoe Kazan and Ray Romano. The film was named one of the AFI's Top Films of the Year and won the Critic's Choice Award for Best Comedy, the Hollywood Film Award for Comedy Ensemble of the Year and an Independent Spirit Award for Best First Screenplay. Additionally, the film earned two Independent Spirit Award nominations, a Producer's Guild Award nomination, two SAG Award nominations, a Writer's Guild and Gotham Award nomination. Nanjiani also earned the Santa Barbara Film Festival's Virtuoso Award, the San Diego International Film Festival's Auteur Award and was named one of VARIETY's 10 Actors to Watch.

Additional film credits include Fist Fight, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, The Five-Year Engagement and Central Intelligence. His vocal talents were heard voicing one of the ninja warriors in The Lego Ninjago Movie from Warner Bros.
