THE LEGO MOVIE 2: THE SECOND PART
TRICIA GUM (Animation Director) has been working professionally in animation for ten
years. She started her film career working as an art director and production designer on various
TV shows, such as, "Robot Chicken," The WB's "MAD," and Adult Swim's "Frankenhole." Gum
transitioned into writing and directing in 2010 and, in 2011, she was selected for the AFI's
Directing Workshop for Women.
In 2015, Gum won an Emmy Award for her work on Amazon's "Tumble Leaf" and, in 2018,
was named one of Variety's top 10 animators to watch. Most recently, she was the Head of Story
on the international hit "The LEGO Batman Movie."
Gum's work includes a large body of independent films that have won festival awards and
gained her recognition from the Independent Magazine as among "2012's Top Ten Filmmakers
to look for." When not making films, she spends her time working on her fine art. As a cut-paper
artist, she has a unique way of changing paper into three-dimensional pop-up book-type scenes.
Her artwork has a strong aesthetic that she often uses in her films.
