THE SPY WHO DUMPED ME

SUSANNA FOGEL [Director/Screenwriter] is a screenwriter and director originally from Providence, Rhode Island. Her first short film, For Real, which she made at the age of 14, was an official selection of the Toronto and Berlin Film Festivals. In the two decades since, she has written numerous projects for film and television, co-creating and Executive Producing the Lionsgate/ABC drama series "Chasing Life," which ran for two seasons.

Her first feature as a director, the comedy Life Partners, was developed at the Sundance Screenwriters Lab and Producers Lab and was released by Magnolia Pictures in 2014. The film stars Leighton Meester and Gillian Jacobs as best friends - one gay, one straight-whose codependency is tested when one gets into a romantic relationship. It was produced by Independent Spirit Award winning producer Jordana Mollick and was nominated for a GLAAD award in 2014.

Susanna is also an avid writer of satire and a regular contributor to the New Yorker. Her first novel, Nuclear Family: A Tragicomic Novel in Letters, was published by Henry Holt / Macmillan last July (nuclearfamilybook.com). She has also written essays for Time and other publications.
