MILE 22

RONDA ROUSEY (Sam Snow) is a mixed martial artist, judoka and actress. She is the first UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion, as well as the former Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Champion. Ronda began judo when she was just 11 years old and by age of 13 she was doing things athletically that made her mother's jaw drop. AnnMaria was not just another proud mother. She was a world-class athlete herself, and in 1984 became the first American to win a World Judo Championship. She had an eye for talent and an analytical mind, and she believed deeply that her daughter had the potential for greatness. She was right. At 17, Ronda qualified for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, becoming the youngest judoka in the entire Games.

In August 2008, she competed at the Beijing Games in and won an Olympic Bronze medal, becoming the first American to win an Olympic medal in women's judo since its inception as an Olympic sport. In 2012, Ronda's dominance in the ring and star-quality caught the attention of Dana White, the President of the UFC. For years, the UFC balked at the prospect of adding women into its fold because of the perception that there wasn't enough depth to create meaningful weight classes. However, Ronda single-handedly changed the way the UFC viewed the potential for female fighters. She became the first woman to sign a contract with the UFC in 2012, and in less than two years she exploded into the biggest star of the formally all-male sport.

Taking Hollywood with force, Ronda has landed roles in major films and exploded onto the scene with the same drive, commitment and command that made her a champion. In 2014 she played Luna in "The Expendables 3," and 2015 saw her as Kara in the blockbuster "Furious 7" as well as herself in the "Entourage" movie. She is also executive producer of the Go90 documentary television series "Why We Fight."
