SAOIRSE RONAN (Lady Bird) began her career at just 13 years old with her
critically-acclaimed performance as Briony Tallis in Atonement, opposite
Keira Knightley and James McAvoy. The role garnered her Academy Award,
Golden Globe, and BAFTA nominations for Best Supporting Actress. Ronan
starred as Eilis in Fox Searchlight's Academy Award-nominated fi lm, Brooklyn,
written by Nick Hornby and directed by John Crowley. Her portrayal of a young
Irish woman in the 1950s, forced to choose between two men and two countries,
earned her Academy Award, Golden Globe, and BAFTA nominations for Best
Actress in a Leading Role. She was seen in Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest
Hotel alongside Ralph Fiennes, Adrien Brody, Jude Law, Bill Murray and Edward
Norton. In 2016, Ronan made her Broadway debut in Ivo van Hove's revival of
The Crucible alongside Ben Whishaw, Sophie Okonedo, and Ciaran Hinds. Her
other film credits include Focus Features' action-thriller Hanna, directed by
Wright; Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones (BAFTA nomination for Best Leading
Actress); and Peter Weir's The Way Back, starring Ed Harris and Colin Farrell.
She recently wrapped production on Dominic Cooke's On Chesil Beach, written
by Ian McEwan and based on his novel of the same name. Ronan is currently in
production on Focus Features' Mary Queen of Scots, playing the title character.
