STEVEN YEUN (Bo) is currently filming the lead role of Ben, a mysterious
presence who enters the character Jongsu's life, in Director Lee Chang Dong's
film Burning. Burning is an adaptation of the acclaimed author Haruki Murakimi
shot entirely in Korean.
Most recently, he joined an acclaimed cast co-staring in Joon-ho Bong'sOKJA.
OKJA follows a young girl namedMijawho risks everything to prevent a powerful,
multi-national company from kidnapping her best-friend - a massive animal for
which the movie is named. Starring alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Lily Collins,
the film can now be seen on Netflix.
Yeun will also be seen starring alongside Dallas Roberts and Kerry Fox in Joe
Lynch'sMayhem. The film tells the story of a virus that infects a corporate law
office on the day attorney Derek Saunders (Yeun) is framed by a co-worker and
wrongfully fired. Trapped in the quarantined building, he is forced to savagely
fight for not only his job but his life. The film is currently in
post-production with a to be confirmed release date.
He also starred opposite Michael Pitt, Brit Marling and AstridBerges-Frisbeyin
Mike Cahill's independent sci-fi drama,I Origins, which premiered at the 2014
Sundance Film festival where it earned raves and was sold in one of the biggest
deals at the festival.
Best known for his starring role in the AMC smash hit"The Walking Dead"as
Glenn Rhee, a role which he originated and developed into a pivotal character,
becoming a favorite for both fans and critics alike for seven seasons.
Born in Seoul, South Korea and raised in the city of Troy, Michigan, Yeun began
his foray into acting while studying psychology at Kalamazoo College in
Kalamazoo, MI. After seeing a performance of the school's improv group, he
decided to switch his focus to acting. Following graduation, Yeun moved to
Chicago, where he performed with the famed Second City Theatre comedy troupe in
various shows with their Touring Company. He has been a part of several
improvisational / sketch comedy groups includingStir Friday
On stage, Yeun has a number of theatre credits including the Steppenwolf
Theatre's production of"Kafka on the Shore," where he understudied the roles of
Kafka and Crow.Yeun'sadditional television credits include appearances on"The
Big Bang Theory,""Law & Order: Los Angeles,""Warehouse 13,"and"NTSF:SD:SUV."
He has also lent his vocal talents to the animated series"The Legend ofKorra,"
"Voltron," "Stretch Armstrong," "Final Space," "Trollhunters," and "Three
Yeun currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and son.
