KRIS KRISTOFFERSON's acting career began in 1971 when Dennis Hopper offered him a role in The Last Movie, which Hopper wrote, directed, and starred in. Since then, Kristofferson has appeared in over 100 films, including Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, Planet of the Apes, Alice Doesn't Live Here Any More, A Star is Born, Heaven's Gate, The Blade trilogy and Lone Star. 

His acting awards include a Golden Globe as Best Actor for A Star Is Born, and a Best Newcomer nomination from BAFTA for Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. 

In addition to his many screen roles, Kristofferson has earned a worldwide following for his music. After graduating from Harvard and being selected as a Rhodes Scholar, he took up and abandoned a military career in favor of music. He found success in Nashville, writing songs for guests of The Johnny Cash Show, before taking to the stage himself. Kristofferson has composed several classic songs, including "Me and Bobby McGee," "Help Me Make It Through the Night," and "For the Good Times." In 1974, Kristofferson was nominated for an Academy Award® for his original song score for Songwriter.
